In a reaction to the somewhat alarming rise in knife and gun crime in the UK, Nike has made the decision to stop selling Runnin’ ‘n’ Gunnin’ Air Stabs over the UK version of its online store. Shops will continue to sell their existing stock but after that the shoe will be taken out of distribution.
The word from Nike is that it recognises the “unfortunate” nature of the name in the current climate of increasing crime involving weapons but, understandably, denied that the name of the shoes was in any way responsible for the rise.
It is not clear from initial reports whether all Stab colourways will be affected or if it is only the Runnin’ ‘n’ Gunnin’ version, with its particularly invocative name. The Nike ACG Pocketknife, however, will continue to be available.
The media in the UK is full of stories about violent crime involving knives and the political and community-based reactions. This year, in London alone, 53 people have died from stab wounds, including 20 teenagers.

Haha…jus needed to double check the calender to see it wasn’t April 1st! They are QS anyway so they were technically discontinued the day they were released! 1/2 the world prob didn’t know Stabs existed until it was put out in the media anyway…..i f**kin hate the press in England!
