This scam is something that reaches beyond this site and has hit home for alot of people. The story below is from a user of our site ‘Sahian78′.

I have been a victim of Internet fraud.
I am writing to find out what I should be doing next and who I should be contacting. I’ve had some friends in the area research and so forth but I need more help.
I really want a photo of the perp.
An online business committed the fraud. They pretended to be a consignment store. I sent my goods to them (have records), they received them (have records) and kept them without the intention of ever paying me for the goods I sent them.
The basic scam was using referals. As many of us do we list items online that we are looking to sell.
After posting in various forums and go back-and-forth between various parties I received an email referring me to an online consignment store (www.dunkclusive.com). I checked it out. It was new, and there was so positive feedback for the shop. So I thought, that would save me dealing with emails and deals.
So I sent off the shoes and they were received in two days (26 April 08).
The first thing that raised my suspiscions was that the online store was not updating it’s stock with my shoes. Strange. So then I tried contacting them, so when the initial email address (consignment@dunkclusive.com) I was using to contact the store stopped working I began to get concerned. So I contacted them through their website (contact form - see below), I quickly received an email from a new address (consign@duncklusive.com) saying that they weren’t sold but things were looking good.
Over a month passes when I decide to get my shoes back and sell them on my own again.
And this is when it all starts to fall apart.
You can read how the entire thing went down on this thread - where I show the emails, chat logs, private messages, pictures, and more. You can read the development that starts off as linking the online store to a known fraud. Then the perp who starts name calling and so forth ends up being the person behind the online store and about a half-dozen other identities.
The website - www.dunkclusive.com - is now ofcourse down.

This store at the Target strip mall is a vacant premise that used to be Omni Video - 714 828 6644 - until earlier this year.
I called the real estate agent listed on the door - Margaret Watkins - who confirms that no one has used the premis since Omni Video. This is also confirmed by the manager at Omni Video.
From personal research and information from others who have been scammed I have been able to attain the various names, addresses and phone numbers of some of the people involved.

The one eye witness I have, said that the perp looked like Greg Foster - the former back-up centre to Shaq when he was at the Lakers!
I have filed a report with The Internet Crime Complaint Centre ( http://www.ic3.gov/ ).
I have emailed everything I have to the Orange County Police Department.
BUT we all know that the authorities are really not going to be interested in a kid who scams expensive sneakers off others. Especially when each scam is around the $1200 mark. But when you add the scams this guy has done we are looking at $25,000+ in shoes. Remember that many of these limited editions shoes can go for $2000 EACH on the market, so that’s only about two dozen shoes.

yeh there was a user on this website that contaced me several types via pm — telling me to sell my shoes on a new website called dunkclusive.com with 100% consignment. i checked out the website and found it similiar to flightclub.com, with the same FAQs. the user on this site claimed to have sold his UNLVs for 500 in a week which was unlikely, but caught my interest and found that a pair of DS send helps where going for $100. im unsure of the username of the person that contacted me, i clear my inbox out, but he did contact me about 3 or so times.
1 BIG SUGGESTION I RECCOMEND, IS CONTACTING YOUR LOCAL NEWS SUCH AS FOX 11 NEWS HERE IN SOUTHERN CALI., THESE PEOPLE ARE GREAT WITH REPORTING SCAMS AND WHAT NOT. THEY DO GREAT INVESTIGATIONS, AND I HIGHLY BELIEVE THEY WOULD DO IT SINCE ITS AN OUTSTANDING AMOUNT OF MONEY. THIS COULD BE A START, JUST TO GET THE WORD OUT THERE.
I KNEW it! They contacted me on every listing I’ve had for the past few months telling me how they sold “a friend of their’s” ____ sb’s for $200 at an online consignment shop. Seeing that every pair they told me sold for the same price I never trusted the place, and wasn’t interested since my friend owns an online consignment shop and it’d be much easier to go through him.

Man honestly this guy is going to get whats coming to him. He is a thief. At the same time, I dont know that it was appropriate to post pictures and addresses of his residence. I know damn well if I sent him some expesive sneakers of my own I would show up at his house with some of the homeboys and shit would go down. He deserves punishment, but realize that his punishment could possibly be death if he scammed the wrong group of dudes. I hope for his sake he has somewhere to hide. Me and some friends went down there to check this punk and catch him outside to beat his ass. so we go up and knock on the door and a dude looks about the same age but a little older like 30’s and white opens up and i am like i wanna speak to “blah blah ” and he was like they dont live here anymore and i am like bullshit so we start talking shit and dude pulls and gun and says hes lapd (i only got a glimpse of his badge # ) and us we better get off his sisters propriety
The reason why the police don’t spend much time on these cases is because they are considered civil disputes. What you need to do, especially now that you know this persons real name is to take them to court. Small claims court is designed so individuals can file open-and-shut cases on their own. Assuming they won’t show up to court, and you have all your evidence, you will win. Once you win, there are laws that will help you collect what is legal owed to you.
It’s definitely a pain in the ass, but the police won’t get your money back even if they arrest the perp. Even if they are found guilty and are sent to jail, you still need to sue them if they don’t hand over the goods.

Ummm… Is it legal to have the picture, address and pictures of physical address/house up online? I understand that it sucked to get scammed, but you don’t want legal loop holes to bite you back in the ass.
BUT..either way, this guy will get what he deserves.
that really sux to get scammed, but from experience in almost getting scammed i have learned to rely on the Better Business Bureau. and if the company is not on there, it is very very unlikely i would continue and/or start and business with them. i guess it would have been best to be patient and deal with the emails and offers. good luck to u.

This fool was messaging me for days, and I almost sent him my Deftones, NEVERMIND THE FACT he came to my WORK 2 days in a row. I feel lucky to have stopped myself, he just seemed all to happy to help me sell these.
Now they sit, unsold, still broke, but at least I have them still. I have saved all e-mail from this dude. If it helps anyone, I have your back.
