Okay let me make everything clear.

I never say Nike is going to scrap the new version. Again, I never say that. I personally never heard of this from anyone I know. Someone spread this news on NSB a few days ago and I have totally no idea with this. I don’t know that guy, I don’t know where he got that news and I don’t know his news is true or false.

The following is the ONLY official comment by mental_therapy.

First, in 2006 Nike made the first sample freddy dunk sb (let me call it sample #1) and very soon after that, Nike decided to scrap sample #1 and made the second version (The one with more stripes and slightly different colorway, that is sample #2) , that’s why sample #1 only got 5 pairs made.

Sample #2 goes fine for a while and they are supposed to be already in the production line until a few days ago someone on NSB (NOT ME) said they will also be scrapped. I personally never heard of this from anyone I know.

IMO if a model is scheduled to be a GR in November, then at this moment they should be about time to leave the factory, get ready in the storage place and to be shipped to all SB accounts worldwide in a few weeks. It is quite unlikely that they will got cancelled UNLESS something big comes up and makes Nike thinks that it would be a better idea to burn all the shoes instead of selling them.

Conclusion is:
1. It is 100% CONFIRMED that sample #1, that is the pair on ebay will NOT be released. This is confirmed ages ago so no matter the new version is going to release or not, it does not affect the rarity of sample #1.
2. For sample #2, they should be released in November, but it is not CONFIRMED. Let’s wait and see.

Also I hope Mods here can edit the news they post on the first page of NSB. I do not say the whole second paragraph.

These joints are sitting in a warehouse somewhere on extended hold. New Line claimed copyright infringment because they own the rights to the Nightmare of Elm Street Franchise as well as Freddy Kruegar name. The issues is that via research New Line found out that Nike was actually calling the sneakers Freddy Kruegar dunks through internal emails and thats a big no no unless New Line is paid for the usage of the name. So that means that these sneakers will never see the light of day until New Line decides to release them (insert here new Freddy Kruegar Movie). If Nike had not given them a name and allowed the street to dicate the name (Purple Pigeons, Tiffany’s,etc) then we’d all be lining up to cop these; great job Nike. Oh BTW the 2nd verison is FIRAAA!!

These ARE coming out…hears the situation: Nike made the sample #1 and the stripe colors were to close to the actual freddy kruger sweater colors…dead on if you will..anyway they were not nick named the freddies they were nicknamed the krugers (horror pack). Because New line cinema owns the color way to the freddy sweater and its strip design they made the #2 sample. Just like starbucks owns that color green called starbucks green ( if you dont think its true try looking it up) New line owns everything freddy. So with the second sample having thinner stripes and offset colors from the original NSB is now aloud to release them…NOT THE FIRST SAMPLE. Also the darker brown in the sample #1 was clost to the freddy pant color and as ugly as i think they are, new line considers these to be much more freddy like. I was also told that because the month of october always stirs up problems with copyright and trademark horror characters, the krugers make it harder for anyone including NSB to release things like this without other companies finding out, NSB made the sample#1 so they could test the things they could get away with in the shoes, thats why they have the freddy red and green sweater colors splattered on the shoe, so they could put an emphasis on having those colors notice witht he freddy pants brown. and they did, so now we are set with better looking ones as NSB’s plan has played out well. Because there was so much talk over the first sample nike thought they would be sly and have there reps say no they are not coming out, and not specify which ones. they are coming out (sample #2) but not until closer to the end of the month. its just funny to have everyone think they wont come out and then when they do everyone turns around to buy them thinking they are this rediculously exclusive shoe. the things that are true are yes reps have said a freddy kruger shoe will not come out. If i am completley wrong then feel free to pass on your knowlege or opinions, always respectable. Later.

the samples look gay and cheezy! i like the second ones WAY better they look more like a freddy inspired shoe, the first ones look half ass, more for a mass appeal not for the nostalgic, plus i really like the material for the pinstripes. also the blood on the second ones looks real, the first ones look like some shitty camo shit. honestly it’s a “horror pack”, not a ” make another retarded looking shoe for some fagget ass hypebeast who doesn’t skate to rock pack”
